Editorial standards

These are the rules everything on The Skin File is written under. They are here so you can hold us to them.

Disclosure

The Skin File is published by Rosalia, which sells a skincare product. Every article carries that disclosure. We are not a neutral party and we do not present ourselves as one.

Evidence

  • We do not invent statistics. If a number is not something we can point at, we do not print it.
  • We do not cite studies we have not read, and we do not describe a mechanism as proven when it is a hypothesis.
  • Quoted experiences are individual accounts, not typical results, and are labelled as such.
  • We publish no before-and-after photographs. They are the least reliable image format in this category.

Claims

  • We do not claim to treat, cure or prevent disease. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
  • We say plainly what a topical product cannot do — for example, that it does not close a structurally changed blood vessel.
  • We do not use countdown timers, fake stock counters or invented "was" prices. The price you see is the price.

Medical boundaries

Nothing here is a medical consultation. We will not tell an individual reader that a product is safe for their pregnancy, their feeding, their medication or their diagnosis. We publish the full formula so that conversation can happen with a clinician.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, write to contact@try-rosalia.com. We correct in place and say what changed.
